Abhi (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a successful horror writer; he wants to pen a romance, but is undergoing writer's block. He finds an old mixed tape that he made with his one real love, Bindu (Parineeti Chopra), and it inspires him to write of that love, from their first meeting as children, to the last goodbye. This is a bittersweet romantic comedy/drama. The plot is interesting and engrossing through to the end. Khurrana and Chopra have good chemistry together, and both acted well, though Khurrana looked too old to play the part of college-age student. The music was nice, but there was very little dancing. Overall, it's a relatable and enjoyable film.

Bindu's character has the interesting 'quirks' that only Parineeti Chopra could portray more realistically and I must admit she did her job amicably well in this movie but her performance in Hasee toh Phasee movie was better in my opinion. That movie has better songs too (If you are into music in Bollywood). This movie had some good moments, The chemistry between the two Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana could have been better. They’re silly and adorable together but does have some dull moments, but overall I did finish the whole movie with minimal forwarding of scenes. Worthy of three stars! Having loved Parineeti Chopra and seeing some fairly good reviews, 3-5 stars here, I ventured in. I'd had seen trailer & video of her own singing on this film, which is quite nice.

But the start of the movie was not inviting, and it took a long time to get at all interested, although it did get somewhat better after intermission. They just really didn't have any chemistry in this movie and somehow it didn't gel as a love story.

Just felt this movie didn't bring out the best of either of those two leading actors. So much of the movie was his mental narration that didn't really reach the heart, as if we are reading what he is writing; I wanted interaction and dialogue instead; so that also didn't go over well.
