Hello All, Have a problem running Easypal Digital SSTV program. I am running Windows 10. I have loaded the program in with no problem but when I click on the icon to run it, if gives the famous error code 0xc0000142, program did not start properly.

I have tried to run it on TWO Windows 10 machines and both give the same result. 60 hash kuttuktoolor ir saptari. One machine is my home unit, the other is my at-work machine. I have tried everything that I could find on the net but nothing so far has worked. Clean installs, registry clean of files from trying multiple installs, setting LoadAppInit_dlls to 0 in the registry, running in compatability mode for XP through Windows 8, downloading separate new versions of the 3 dll files in Easypals folder, etc. Has anyone found and fixed this problem? The newest version of Easypal is now almost 4 years old and I do not think anyone has done any maintenance on the original program except the author who I thinks has since passed away? Aug 15, 2008  We have a local two meter SSTV net on Sundays. We mostly use mmsstv software and have had great success. Recently we tried EasyPal digital software. We downloaded the software from KC1CS, set it up as best we knew how and it worked perfectly the first week. The results were amazing.

I read on another forum a different problem another fellow was having with EasyPal. The reply suggested installing it in a different folder instead of program files which is the default of EasyPal installations.

I just tried installing it into a new folder I created called hamradio and tried to run it. You know what? IT NOW RUNS JUST FINE!! I have no reason why it fails when put in the program files folder in Windows 10, but the fix for another fellow also fixed my startup issue. I hope this info here will help so other hams with similar problems.

I thought installing it as Admin would take care of the permissions change introduced in Win 10, but I was wrong, lesson learned. I have 'faced' that problem before, either forgot that I ended up installing the app in a different folder, or in my case, the Admin installation fixed it. Anyways, great it's working again.
